They came. They sketched. They conquered… and we LOVED it!
Our doors opened at 10am this past Saturday to some nervous but excited little faces. There were a dozen aspiring “artistes” who quietly took their seats as parents and grandparents watched on. Little did we know what would happen next…
After a series of creative prompts, imaginations ran WILD! There were flying zebras (yup, we have those here), a yellow rhino looking for a home, a kite-flying rabbit, a flying shark… need we go on?
This flagship art series called “Create Your Own Character“ was designed by Sisters Unique to challenge the imagination of a child in a highly personalized way. Each child created a unique character using their answers to questions such as “I’ve always wanted to___” or “My favorite color is___.” They turned their answers into a character and a story line. The dozen “artistes” walked through steps every illustrator must go through – creating a concept, sketching and drawing the final illustration with pen and ink. And oil pastels!!!
It was SO MUCH FUN that we’re doing it again this Saturday, November 13th.
